Want to learn how HasGeek TV works? This comprehensive two day workshop will take you through the equipment and processes involved in recording high quality video and releasing it the same day.
Free for HasGeek and PyCon India video volunteers. You will be paying with your time when you help record video at PyCon or HasGeek events.
Recording good video requires a working knowledge of audio, video, lighting and post-processing. Video almost always requires two or more people working together, so it's important to understand the other person's role and situation, even if your own role is limited.
This workshop is a practical guide on how to produce conference video and release it within a day of recording, to ensure the video is available to viewers when the original session is still fresh on their minds.
You do not need to bring any equipment apart from your laptop and headphones/earphones (so you can edit audio without disturbing others). We will show you how to use a variety of free and shareware post-processing tools. Most of these are available for all of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, but some tools are single or dual-platform only, so prepare to be spending time on someone else's laptop for part of the workshop.
